EnAppSys came to life on Phil Hewitt’s dining room table in Middlesbrough in 2003, when he started developing a data platform for Elexon settlement data for the UK market. One of the motivations for creating the platform was his view that the future of data in the UK market would be through online platforms hosting and trading fundamental data by subscription.
Paul Verrill soon joined to strengthen our ambitions and expand our consulting services, using our ever-evolving data platform. Our business soared to new heights in 2013 when we added visualizations and further insights to our platform. We gained an international foothold and opened an office in the Netherlands in 2017.
Today, we have strengthened our international position and consultancy services across the European energy markets. Our platform encompasses 40 billion data items and we ingest 22 terabytes of new information each month. Combining this with our years of experience and market knowledge, EnAppSys now offers clients a realistic and accurate view of the market to make the most of every business case.
Early in 2023 EnAppSys became part of the Montel Group, which is headquartered in Oslo, Norway. We always had the privilege of working with customers who are at the cutting edge of new flexibility markets, renewable technologies and trading approaches. Now as a part of Montel, EnAppSys is deepening relationships in its core markets and continuing to bring its experience in intermittent renewable dominated markets, data services and insights across the 30+ energy markets in Europe.

Entso-e is a transparent aggregator of European electricity data. The large volume of data flows at their disposal makes them one of our most thorough data providers. We clean, process, calculate and engineer their basic data.
GFS provides weather modeling by 0.5-degree points across most of the European continent. This enables us to include data in our platform for weather forecasts up to 14 days.
The EPEX SPOT runs a day ahead and offers intraday market data for various European countries. Besides market overviews, our platform also offers insights in the trade and price evolution as well as order books.
